[Great, one of these things again. This was all feeling a little too familiar. A video shows up on the network, but Lisbeth's face is barely visible. It may seem more like an accidental video. The left side of her body is visible.]

This woman is a problem.

Obviously she's tangled up with Jesse somehow, and obviously she's not interested in getting along with us. However, we don't know anything about her yet except that she likes provoking people before she knows they're dangerous or not.

She's trouble and I volunteer to find out what's wrong with her, and how I deal with it. I'm willing to take responsibility for her, because she's Jesse's.

No.

[Emphatically yes. Jealousy, because look at this woman--pretty, cool, vicious. Of age. Shrike feels the oncoming replacement. Jesse was hers and she doesn't want to share, or to be superseded, and now there are two of these women.]

Not everyone has your sense of humour. She's putting him at risk and she is personally irritating me. She's going to act like this with people who won't forgive her and severely complicate my day.

If this is how you feel even some of the time I'm amazed you haven't killed everyone. I hate people.

Do not underestimate my word, Shrike. I had told you I will protect him and thus shall it be. Her only error is her stupidity, common of many upon arrival as I do recall. Give her ego a couple of strikes down and she'll be fine.

Do tell me how she compromises you.

[Shrike could ask him to protect Lisbeth too, but...why? What has Lisbeth done to show she's anything but a mistake? She has to earn Shrike's approval and she's not doing it. If that changes the deal can change too. Her silence is conspicuous.]

Jesse's problems are mine. And she's obviously a problem.

But we...let her hang herself, right? Like you did to me. It's easier that way and people do a better job of wrecking themselves on their own if you let them control the rope?

So I should be patient and not let her bother me.
