[ Tranquility, meet Syg. Syg just came from three years in State - at least, the girl Alias knew in Miami had.
What you see in the icon is what you're getting, ladies and gents. ]
Out of one shithole and into another. At least the last place had cable.
I'm just gonna leave it short and fuckin' sweet: Who do I gotta show my tits to for some cliffnotes on some of the questions I've got? Same goes for a pack-a Reds.
[ It hears cigarettes are a currency here and it wants in. Let's see how your idea of people liking to see other people strip actually plays out, Justin. ]
Oh yeah - I found this too.
[ She holds up a black, leather-bound book. Look familiar, Murphy? ]
Sorry, but I kinda thumbed through it to see what the hell it was and maybe who it belonged to.
[ The glare seems to soften a little. ]
And I know whose it is... [ And it's back again. ] So don't fuckin' try to claim it just because you're bored. That shit ain't cool.

[the cheekiest grin.]
video;
Easy. He doesn't know. He can't know.
A hyena grin mimics his almost exactly in turn. But not, perhaps, for the reason he'd like. ]
Well, unless you wanna tell me how to set it to a private channel, yer just gonna have to try and answer and collect your prize at a later date. Fair enough?
[ Is that what you like? Mammary glands? Alias really doesn't get this appeal to them, seeing as no woman's breasts provide sustenance unless pregnant, but here is proof that it is a motivator. ]
video;
[but he didn't miss that sharp look.]
video;
[ The grin drops off, replaced by a bit of a sneer. ]
Not if they don't know who the fuck you are, they don't. Who are ya and just how long have you been here?
video;
video;
Yeah. [ In some ways, this makes things easier, but at the same time -- its number can be seen. How many transmissions has it sent between Alias and Jared? What if someone like itself is out there monitoring, seeing that a child can text with a higher grammar than it should? How can it lie to cover this up? Calm down. Jared Dionysus can die. He can disappear for good if needed. ] Where can I see your number at on here?
[ As if he's lying to her. ]
video;
On the left.
[user: --- » 003 » 094 precedes his video transmission.]
video;
I thought it was like. The comm serial number. Does the same number show up on any device you work?

[Amid the dredge of network activity that Murphy has, in spite of everything, been keeping a lookout for, the flash of something that is actually familiar actually does wind up catching his attention. Fast.
[He freezes at first.
[..."thumbed through it"...
[Easy there, no need to lose your head over this. Just turn this thing on, and:]
Where did you find that? [He pauses.] I've been lookin' all over for it.
[Alas, one other reason for his untimely absence... While his conversation with Sam did bring him some peace of mind, the unsettling notion of his history being unveiled is enough to keep Murphy checking over his shoulder from time to time. Fresh start or not, he doesn't want nor need that kind of stigma hanging over his head here.
[But who the hell is this chick, anyway?]
[video]
There's a feigned curiosity, though Alias has memorized the voice well. ]
Oh really?
[ There's a feigned skepticism. ]
Hell if I know where I was in the ship. "On the ground" is about the best I can give ya.
Name, please.
[ She lifts the journal, tapping it thoughtfully against her chin. ]
[video]
On the ground...? [Shit. He's pretty sure he would've known better than to drop it so fucking carelessly like that. For the most part, he has practically carried that journal straight into Hell and back, and that kind of thing has never happened to him before.]
...
Murphy Pendleton. Ring any bells?
["Or do there just happen to be other journals lying on the ground?"
[If nothing else, at least she's cautious enough to ask first, instead of just passing that kind of information around.
[Oh, but if you only knew, Murphy...]
[video]
Yeah, it does. Alright, Murph, where do you want it?
[video]
[Because yeah, he's going to want to talk to this person, definitely...]
[video]
[His face is quite grim.]
You need but ask questions. There is absolutely no need to feel as though you must debase yourself in such a manner.
[video]
[ For someone else. ]
You gonna set the example then?
[video]
[video]
What's the justice system here like? We got cops?
[video]
No. We've a security force, but one cannot describe them as police, as we have no system of laws for them to enforce.
[video]
[video]
[video]
What happens to people that were cons from their worlds? Do they try and lock 'em up or is this like a move to another country, get a clean slate type of deal?
[video]
They do not seem to care overmuch about people paying for crimes at all. But, frankly, I cannot see any mechanism by which people could possibly be penalized for crimes back home.
[video]
So you can do a crime and there's no consequences? That can't be right. How are people not beatin' the hell outta each other?
[video]
[video]
So it's sorta 'take justice in your own hands' deal. I get ya. If someone fucks with me, it sucks to know I ain't got the option of security, but I guess I can take care of it.
[video]
That's not what you should be taking away from this at all. I was being a bit ironic - No. You absolutely should not be taking justice into your own hands. The security team, no matter its vicissitudes in the application of justice, will indeed support you if necessary.
[video]
[video]
[video]
[video]
[video]
[video]
I cannot say, as we have no case precedent of assault. Tell me: would you do someone bodily harm?
[video]
If I had to, sure would.
[video]
[video]
[ But then, Alias' definition of want and need definitely wouldn't fit Edgeworth's standards. It's killed people for the sake of passports. ]
[video]
[video]
[video]
Yes.
