[Jack looks quite ill as he comes on screen: there are dark circles beneath his eyes, and there's a faint sheen of sweat on his face. He also looks a bit thinner than he did, though no one might actually notice that one. It's not severe, after all.]

Listen, uh, I-- I know you guys don't know me too well, and you got a lotta other stuff on your mind, but, uh, help a guy out, yeah? I ain't had no cigarette in about four days and I'm dyin' for it. Anythin' anybody's got, you know? I promise I'll do somethin' for you in return, I don't give a damn what, but-- anythin'. Please.

Well, it ought to be! We're working seriously hard! We're risking our necks for you lot, Spots, and you haven't even said thank you, and now you're disparaging our efforts.

As you have demonstrated prior, passenger Black, and as I intend to clarify- you are not, as you say, my men. You are your own, working of your own volition upon your own terms with the intention to deepen your own understanding and in some part, provide benefit to your fellow passengers.

It is not my intention to disparage your efforts.
I anticipate you will be successful. I also anticipate that you will do so for a cause far greater than myself.

Look, when I say we're "your men" I don't actually mean that we're yours. It's a sort of figure of speech. I just mean we're the men for the job, ergo, yours in a sort of rented sense, doing things for the greater cause and benefiting various fellow passengers.
