video :: backdated to right after the jump, before AU!Charles contacts the rest of X-cast
[ After seeing the video of Hotspur, Ales had scoured the medbay Charles, and all but ran to the rooms to check for him, finding no sign of the man. There's a slight tint of panic here and Alex doesn't take the time to private this like he should have. ]
Charles is gone.
[ Spoken with underlying urgency he's trying to keep suppressed, but after what happened with Hotspur and considering Charles' issues with getting around... Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. ]
Havok. Erik. He's gone. [ This tone meaning: get your shit over here right the fuck now, this is a serious issue. ]

Havok. Erik. He's gone. [ This tone meaning: get your shit over here right the fuck now, this is a serious issue. ]
voice. 1/2 (icly, the latest ever)
[ All the indication he gives before his own communication is shut down, the mumble of a few words to another person in the room and he's gone.
Alex has probably checked, but Erik needs to do this on his own. ]
action.
There are possessions in the room, all neatly tucked away just like Charles had been here one second, gone the next, and he doesn't quite know how to process it. One Charles is gone, and another one is here in his place, one that speaks of far more familiarity than he knew himself, of situations he hadn't lived through.
He ignores Alex for the time being, walking over to the chair, one finger drawn along the metal frame. ]
That's it.
action.
You don't think... [ He didn't make it? He was caught up, like Hotspur? ]
no subject
[ He doesn't need to ask Alex what he means, because it was the first thing on his mind as well after seeing that transmission and Alex's own contact towards him earlier. Jerking away from the chair, he shoves his own hands into his pockets, avoiding looking at Alex. ]
Charles wasn't reckless -- like I am.
[ Just a mild admission of his own flaws there. ] He's gone, Alex.
no subject
Probably better he's not here anyway. [ He wanders over to the desk, thumbing a pair of gloves sitting on the desktop. ]
no subject
[ It had been better, all things considered, that Charles had been there as a buffer between himself and Alex, keeping things at bay like he was want to do as usual. Nevertheless it still stung with the man's absence, that Erik had no one to speak to on equal terms anymore. ]
Alex -- [ Just another pause, because talking to Alex is still one of the hardest things Erik has to do these days.
I'm not Charles, he wants to say, but that's stating the obvious. ] I'm here if you need someone. [ To talk to. Something. He doesn't know anything about being a parent in the slightest, but Alex had needed both of them. ]
no subject
I'll deal.
[ He wouldn't be willing to talk about it any more than Erik would be willing to share his feelings over it. ]
no subject
[ He mimics Alex's moves perfectly, the roll of his own shoulders before moving around the room, collecting items, keepsakes of the man he had grown to become attached to, willing to put aside their differences in favor of repairing their friendship. All of that gone.
It's just them from now on. ]
[ICly late as well, like after Erik late] - Video
He did not imagine Alex was going to appreciate the situation but he also did not imagine that Alex would appreciate being left in the dark for longer than necessary. Right then.
Opening up a communication link, Charles cleared his throat.]
Alex ...
Video
Charles, shit-- I mean, I've been looking everywhere for you.
Video
No, Alex. You have been looking everywhere for a Charles Xavier who had been here for awhile now. I am not him.
[And it would seem that the easiest way to prove this was to stand up, walk away from the device, then come back towards it.]
Video
So you're like Alex... Havok, I mean. [ He clears his throat and looks down ] You from Promenade too?
Video
[He said the last word as if uncertain how exactly it should be pronounced.]
When I was last on Earth, in what I suppose we can say is our timeline, it was the beach. Erik and I had been fighting and Erik had just punched me. I was trying to get up ... then I was taken.
Video
[ His eyes squint for a moment and something processes. ]
But... if you knew about the walking thing... Someone told you already?
voice
You don't need me there.
[What is the point in mourning someone you never got to talk to? Alex had tried to keep his distance and well...it worked.]
Hopefully he's gotten sent back home, somehow. It happens.
[He lost one Charles already. Now a second. Before he even got to say hello. Great.]
voice
You know that for sure? I mean, with what happened to Hotspur-- [ He doesn't want to think that would have happened to Charles as well, that there would have been a video or something, some kind of call for help. ]
voice
[He could be wrong, but it's just a hunch--he checked it twice.]
voice
voice
[Alex snorts.]
But really, it's the only explanation I have.
voice
voice
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
And um--I'm sorry he's gone.
voice
Don't worry about it. 'Think Erik's coming by.
voice
If you need something, let me know, okay?
voice
Later, man. [ And he disconnects in favor of angsting in the room with Erik. Alex doesn't need to witness that. ]

he's gone home? we know for sure?
text; ENCRYPTED 75%
[ He has the same sort of fear creeping through him and he won't sugar coat it. It's terrible timing, whatever happened. ]
