Kind of had an idea. [ Have Peter trying to keep from looking apprehensive. ] Don't know if it'd work, or if anybody'd even find it helpful.
But with everything that's been happening lately? This ship's too big to have people getting lost in it as often as they do. Ending up who knows where for more than just a few days at a time. Dangerous enough as it is on any given day, but with something on the ship leaving threatening messages lying around? Seems like a disaster waiting to happen.
[ he sighs. ] At some hospitals, they paint the floors -- stripes down the middle with hints to where you're going. Guess it'd work on the walls too, doesn't really matter. But it's a trail that's easy to follow. Tells you how to get where you need to go so that people don't end up on the wrong floor in a storage closet wondering how to get back to the information desk. [ Not that that's ever happened to him, no, of course not. But Peter shrugs, like it's the best helpful idea he's got, even if he doesn't know if it'd work. ]
Doubt the captain would want us painting the floors, but if he's not around to stop us, I don't know what the problem would be. Unless the ship likes to move hallways around without anyone noticing.

[Too many corridors and too many changes - sounded way too complicated for her. But she knew there were people good with maps and maths on board, so she wouldn't say it was impossible.]

[ He shrugs a little helplessly. Peter's really not good at sitting around trying not to be helpful, and even if he's working at the medbay now... he wants to do more. And he thinks he can do more. ]

Anything's worth trying. [But the experience in the corridors coupled with all the red smile's activity on the network does instil some caution in her.] As long as it doesn't make too much noise.
[A pause, thinking about whether she should bring it up or not, but his name (number) had been one of the ones that she'd really noted.]

[ Which somehow immediately makes Peter think of the red smile as well, and the fact that it's making him more paranoid than he'd like to admit. But it's not as if there's even anything to be afraid of yet so he just sighs. ]
Yeah, so did I. Less concerned about my name being on the thing and more concerned that I don't know what any of it means.

[Even if it was a tea party, she had no doubt that the smile's perception of what was good and friendly was twisted.]

[ As badly as he wants it to be something that's not entirely hideous, Peter's not nearly as hopeful as he used to be and really, nothing around here really inspires all that much hope. ]
People think it has something to do with my fight with Nathan, but I don't know.

On the network? That was kind of loud. Loads of people on your side.
[Which wouldn't seem so directly important to anything, except the smile did seem to be watching everyone and caring about their reactions. But that sort of thing wasn't the same for most of the other names on the list.]
Hoping we figure it out before it gets around to telling us.

[ But Peter really doesn't sound convinced. Because while he supposes it connects some of them, he still doesn't get how that compares to any of the rest of the reasons why people would be on there. Basically, he's just kind of frustrated by the whole thing, if only because it doesn't make sense to him. ]
