This mark. I'm afraid I've never been very good with fancy machinery and such complicated things, and there seems to be a bit of a buzz about these matters as of late. May I possibly ask what these symbols stand for? -- humor an old man, perhaps?

It's apparently meant to be a face, sir! [ he's so proud he learned this strange new thing. ] It's read, ah -- sideways, which is rather strange. But the two dots are eyes, and the curve is a smile. Apparently used to signify that the speaker is smiling.

It does not seem the kind of person to smile.

Whoever it is seems to be using it more as a -- ah, taunt. If that's the right word. Not sincerely.
