What happens to the people we've left behind? If anybody knows, I mean. If you don't, that's all right. You can just tell me what you think happens. Or, we could talk about the weather. [Pause.] Of which there is none of in space, making that a short conversation.

Maybe pick your own topic. I'd like to talk to just about anybody, at the moment. Get to know the other inmates, so to speak. I'm an excellent conversationalist, you'll find - possibly the best, but I'll give everyone a chance to prove me wrong there.

I'm sorry I can't quite be informative on the first part as I've yet to be here long enough to be knowledgeable of those arriving or left behind. However, I find a good conversation is always a decent possibility for drumming up ideas or at least finding out information about one's situation. As I've just arrived I can only provide hypothetical; but I'll offer to be of what assistance I can.

Oh, you too? [As if they both happened to be invited to the same party by accident,] That's nice. I haven't had a chance to really speak with anybody new.

It does leave us lacking for a topic of conversation, though. Seen anything spooky, yet?

Unfortunately yes. [ A wistful sort of sigh, as curious as he is about technology he doesn't really fancy being dragged from his home. ]

I would have to say most of this is a bit "spooky" to me. Waking up in a tube with many of my things in a locker and a new tattoo I'm not exactly keen on.

It's better than waking up and finding out your head's been stolen. [Spoken like someone who totally knows how that shit goes.] But, I suppose it is all a little spooky. I was going to go with unnerving, but really, that doesn't have quite as much panache.

I imagine if that happened I wouldn't be doing much waking up at all. [ A curious sort of laugh, as if he's unsure of the idea but finds humor in it. ]

A flair for words is something I can appreciate.

Probably not, but even then, it'd be worse than a little goo and embarrassing first encounters in the medical bay.

It's a thing most people should appreciate, but they just don't seem to care nowadays.

I'll give you that. [ Waking up as he did was bad enough, but it was true, at least he did wake up. ]

Oh, I entirely agree, it's quite a shame when they can add such flare or even simply make a description more apt. Though, perhaps it's just me, I'm told I'm a bit old fashioned.

I get told that same thing. Usually by obnoxious teenagers. [Hah. Take that, sidekick-who-isn't-here-to-defend-herself.] Personally, I find nothing wrong with old-fashioned.

[ Charles gives a chuckle at the 'obnoxious teenagers' part. Something he agrees with entirely. ] I concur entirely.

Glad to find someone else with similar tastes here. I was almost expecting some sort of obscenely futuristic action movie when I showed up. You know, the sort with the flashy silver clothing and laser guns. Thank God that's not the case.

I can't say I've seen much like that in my time, [ A soft, amused hum. ] At best a man wearing what looked like several buckets.
