This is Miles Edgeworth of the Security Department. A general update on our efforts:
Eleven days ago, we found a probable crime scene. It was clear that in this place someone had been grievously injured at the very least. Some scattered remains, as well as testimony of witnesses, indicated that the victim was most likely one Howard Stark (009 >> 001), lately of the engineering team. I assure any and all who were acquainted with the victim, as well as those concerned about the state of things aboard the ship: we're searching tirelessly for the truth of what happened there. Our efforts have not stopped and will not stop. Such is also the case for all other crimes aboard this ship: though investigations have not been resolved instantaneously, they have not ceased.
Remember: the security team is here to help you and keep you safe, and we will do so to the full limits of our power. Remember too, however, that your safety is also in your own hands. Tell us if there is any problem. If you feel unsafe, tell us. If you need help, tell us. If someone has threatened you, tell us. Indeed, even if you're simply feeling uneasy and want an escort back to your room, contact the security team and we will provide that service for you. We will always step in to protect anyone in danger; you need but contact us.
The converse of this, of course, is that you can negatively contribute to your own safety. Remember that when a crime occurs, if you collect and withhold evidence, you are negatively impacting our ability to find the perpetrator. If you withhold information, the same is true. Our goal is to keep all of you safe, but we do need your cooperation in this.
Tips can be left anonymously, and anyone who has taken evidence from crime scenes will face no penalty if they choose at this point to return it.
All of this said: if anyone believes, as we on the security team believe, that keeping others safe is a worthy calling, then we're now in the process of open recruitment. We seek in particular those with law enforcement experience and those with physical and combat training. Not all who volunteer will necessarily be accepted; while we do desire more personnel, more important by far is to recruit good personnel, for others will depend upon you for their safety. You must be competent; you must be reliable; you must be willing to follow orders but capable of taking independent action. You must be in good physical and mental condition.
Training in basic and advanced skills will be provided. If interested, contact myself or Tyke (001 >> 011).
