[ Because that's how this goes: You hurt someone and then you find them and tell them you're sorry -- maybe you even mean it -- and they're scared of you but they want to think the best of you, so they forgive you, even if they don't really mean it, even if it's not what's best for them. That's where thinking you have a right gets you. ]
