Guess while everyone else is admitting to things, I might as well do the same.

[ He sighs, once again unprepared for giving "speeches"; taking to large groups of people about important things. ] When I first spoke up on the network, I mentioned something about being hunted by the government. It's because back home a classified branch of Homeland Security knows about people like me. People with abilities. And they're trying to move us all somewhere else because we're dangerous. And then some of us are supposed to be shot to kill on sight.

[ 'Some of us' meaning him. But he's not here to complain about that. After another second, he continues. ]

Figured I might as well tell everyone what I can do. My ability is being able to... well, mimic other peoples. I don't know how it works when it comes to people from other worlds, I just know how it works with people from mine. I don't take anyone's ability -- steal it, I mean. It's just replication. I can do what anyone else can, but I have to make some kind of physical contact first. Soon as I touch someone else, the one I had before is gone.

It's happened accidentally before -- picking up someone else's ability. Probably because I can't-- [ he hesitates, somewhat strained ] I can't control it the way I used to be able to. Can't always control the abilities I pick up, either. [ And that's also a story for another day, but he's leaving himself open for questions. ]

But right now? I can fly. Not exactly the most useful ability to have on a spaceship, believe me, I know. But it had its uses back home.

[ And after an awkward glance off screen, he ends the feed. ]

[ There's a pause. Hurgh. This is bad news. ]

[ He's giving you a sort of curious look now, Alex. He's had something like that happen before. ]

One of those abilities where if you can't control it, it just builds up until you overload, right?

[ Someone isn't surprised at all. There's a number of things he wants to say, needs to say really - starting with the round of people with abilities, finding out where this occurred, the realization that this isn't his world, but still equally plausible. ]

How did it start?

[ The government round up, he means, but he'll explain as necessary. ]

No idea.

What, my ability, or the government round up.

[ Because he tried not to make it too obvious that his ability didn't used to be this way, or if he means all the government bullshit because if it's that, Peter's more than willing to complain about his brother betraying him until kingdom come. ]

One of those abilities you can't control either way. [ Not without a fancy suit. Just don't get overly upset while you have it, Peter, because you might incinerate everything in the room :| ] But yeah. Pretty much.

I used to have an ability like that. [ Peter's aware of the fact that most abilities are harder to control when you're upset.... granted, some of them are just hard to control no matter how you feel. Life sucks man. ]

How'd that work out for you? [ Luckily it just just go off at random. Well. Maybe. He's not sure how it would work for other people. Erm. Awkward. ]

The latter, if you don't mind the curiosity. Such a thing nearly happened where I'm from.

Yeah, of course I don't mind.

Long as you don't mind the fact that it's sort of complicated. [ God this is a long story, let's see if he can put it into some kind of nutshell. ] My brother's a senator for New York and he got it into his head, only after thinking that the only way to fix everything was to give people abilities, that we were all too dangerous to be controlled any other way then to move us all to some sort of secure location.

Told the president that we existed and they made him Head of Homeland security. Claimed he could find a way to take care of us, they've got a whole squad working on it, controlled by someone above even Nathan. Started hunting us down, going to our homes. Tasers are pretty effective at taking most of us down and the next thing I knew I was on a plane with a bag over my head being pumped full of drugs to keep me sedated. There was maybe twenty other people on it, too.

Not so well to start with. Got it under control after awhile. Took about six months, four of which were spent in a facility that was trying to get rid of my abilities.

[ He should just apologize right now for his confusing life. ]

[ Damnit Peter, don't say all of that. He's already trying to handle the outcome from his own world, trying to deal with the ship, and you say all of this, which doesn't help him any. ]

[ He wasn't aware he was supposed to be helping you, Erik, all he's doing is answering your questions. ]

Because there's people back home that are dangerous. I nearly blew up New York once on accident, there's a guy by the name of Sylar that likes to cut open peoples heads to steal their abilities, another one in Haiti that's used his ability to make him a warlord. There are dangerous people, but they're not discriminating.

There used to be a Company that tried to do the same thing, but it's never been taken to the government before.

[ He wrinkles his nose in disgust at that a little. ]

Government run, right? [ A derisive snort ] How'd they do?

That facility actually wasn't run by the government. [ He shrugs. ] It worked while I was taking the pills.

[ He doesn't like the sound of that, but lets it pass. ] Pills? You can just medicate a power away?

Didn't get rid of it, just suppressed it. Stopped taking them, everything came back. [ a beat ] Company was more interested in experimentation, in keeping me imprisoned than actually getting rid of my ability.

People like me aren't usually.. killed on sight or anything, but-- [ a tug at one of his ears, gaze sliding away. ] there are people that.. collect us. I guess it's.. normal to treat people who are different this way.

[ It's helping, bite him. :< ]

Dangerous perhaps, but is it more so that they're dangerous to mere humans or to everyone? [ Because there's a difference in Erik's world. ]

Should have figured the government would get involved, it seems to be nearly consistent on their part no matter where you're from.

[ He could do that too! 8D ... er, well as long as it helps. ]

Depends on the person. Some of them don't differentiate, some of them do. But to the government it couldn't matter less. Nathan's even told me before that i'm dangerous. That we're dangerous, that something needs to be done about us. And i've never done anything on purpose to anyone to didn't need to be stopped.

If anything, he's the one that should know that. [ Sigh. Nathan why do you make his life so difficult. ]
