[ Attached: Archival Research link (which is up to jump 36); due to network failure each secondary link might need to be downloaded from Ryuuzaki's posted database. /waves hands ]
[ Clearly it does matter or op wouldn't be anon. Severus doesn't feel like talking to more anonmuggles further than that, though, especially after Ryuuzaki's post. So no response; perhaps others will pick up the inquiries. ]
[ After being ID'd on the network twice in two weeks, it doesn't occur to him Severus might actually not know who this is, so. ~miscommunication tango~ unfortunately. Nonetheless, he opts not to poke wizards with sticks. ]
[When Loki speaks his name aloud, so does a sharp-beaked bird gliding among the vaults of level 024, and another perched in the medical bay, near the rows of gravity couches—this one a ghostly shape, flickering green. (Hey, it's worth a shot.)]
When Smiley was on the network the other cycle before the network crash I asked a bit about how death works and its uhhhhhh
fuckin
alternatives I guess
Saved this. Seems to refer to an old list of passenger names, according to archives. don't know enough about fucking decryption to get to the exact list, but the fact it was of passengers suggests maybe
what happened to Felix is similar to the way different versions of us come out of the ether but never two at once
starting with what we know: laurens, felix. captain of the scylla, a pirating vessel that docked on the tranquility during jump 17. not the sharpest tool in the shed, nor the chattiest. caught and confined by us, and possibly killed along with his crew by ward at the end of that jump cycle. possibly because our knowledge of his death and the rest of his crew's came through an audio transmission from smiley, of ward talking about how they shouldn't be here and he can't let them leave, followed by gunshots.
do we know if any of us saw the bodies? not that a body swap wouldn't have been easy as pie, or like that would be the first time we've seen something that wasn't real. it's hard to say if he died at all.
either way, he's MIA until jump 30, when he shows up on the network singing songs and talking about not being in control of himself, and about arima. voice and video. interacting with his surroundings. tangible. trying to get us to get off on arima, maybe, which none of you managed due to some kind of mental programming kicking into gear to get you back to the ship. laurens shows up a few times during jump cycle 33 to express his disappointment in us, and 35 to confirm he's what, dead and also still here?
so maybe he didn't die at all, and he's been kept in the white room - shepard said it was immune to the jump - or using whatever other gravity couches ward and resnik were. or he did die and was revived somehow.
or william is on to something. he might not be the same laurens. we see plenty of alternate universes. he was angry about his crew getting killed, though, so if he's from an alternate reality it's a close one. his corpse could've been the alternate. he could be stuck in between somehow, the way that transmission from tomas talked about. the way a lot of things around here seem to be.
where he is right this minute is something I wouldn't mind knowing, considering all that's happened since he reared his head again. and considering he doesn't seem to be in total control of his facilities.
Similar how? I'm not seeing the connection between that and the version thing. There've been so many lists and no connections between the people we've ever seen other than the obvious 'all went on recon' or 'members of SCI departments' sort of thing.
I forgot there was video of him. Not that that necessarily means anything in terms of alive or dead.
Smiley says that he's trapped and very alone, I think that's the key part somehow. (Smiley also says we're already in the white room, so if he were there too he wouldn't be alone. Maybe we're there and he's not.)
Stuck between somethings is my general theory. What transmission from Tomas is this?
There were two lists. Of all the names listed, three of them weren't passengers. There were no commonalities discovered, or at least none that were confirmed.
Alex Summers. Sherlock Holmes. Charles Xavier. John Watson. There may have been others.
right before the network went dark. didn't save it. guy wondering if they might be stuck between worlds. nature abhors a vacuum.
he mentioned gallagher. said his sister is a nurse, charlotte's brother is tomas, ergo.
alone only fits if we aren't stuck between worlds too. or are stuck between different ones. you've done this before, right? the universe-hopping thing.
[ ur life is even crazier than his sometimes ok. ]
Oh yeah, I have those saved. I didn't know the name.
I've done the universe-hopping thing but with powers that are more like magic, not anything like a jump drive. I've been in dimensions that aren't really universes, that's sort of like being stuck between worlds? But I'm not sure that my experience here is actually helpful.
