[The first time the video clicks on, the feed is extraordinarily distorted. Did Asato do something to break his communicator or jam its signal somehow? He raises his voice to speak and sounds alarmed, to whatever extent he could be heard to people viewing this transmission. The sound is mostly garbled nonsense and sometimes it cuts out altogether, hissing into static before returning to the previous glitchy message, over which the Ribika's voice can be heard steadily rising, as if yelling louder might make the transmission more clear.

Among what one might possibly make out from this transmission are the words "help" and "not right".]

[And then it cuts out again, for a rather long period of time. When Asato transmits his next message, the quality is once again crystal clear, permitting a view of a Ribika who is obviously quite disconcerted by what he's just experienced. His fur is still standing on end, but his voice, when he speaks, is back to its usual, low timbre--though he can't hide a tinge of fear from creeping in when he speaks.]

Something is very wrong.

[The first transmission gives him a headache, both from the quality of the video and his worries suddenly seeming to be somewhat founded. Or maybe he had a headache already.

Once he sees something else come in loud and clear, he jumps on it, fumbling his way to video - the feed back is shaky only because he's adjusting his comms device.]

[Oh thank the Goddess, he can reach the others again. He doesn't recognize this person, but just hearing a voice, any voice, is a comfort after being trapped in that room.]

Listen, if--if you see the door in the hallways that don't end, you shouldn't go through it.

[He needed to get that out of the way as soon as possible, because that room was...unpleasant.]

[And he just wants some goddamn answers.]

Why not. [He brings himself to a full stop and frowns down at the screen.] Y'seem fine. Are ya not?

Yes. I'm fine. [That isn't the issue here, clearly. There isn't a mark on him.]

Someone died in there. Two someones. And I don't know how.

[The way the bodies were oriented, the scoring and cracks on the bones; he can't think of any means to kill a person that would leave remains like that.]

Asato? Are you also in a hallway?

[His paranoia is in high gear, he's not disregarding physical not-fucked-up-ness.]

And ya left 'em. There.

Now I am. But it's not endless anymore. I can find my way back.

Was Tavros trapped too?

[Never mind that he's still superstitious, and disturbing the remains of the dead didn't strike him as the best course of action right then.]

[He doesn't understand. The suggestion makes him think they could try to bring them back to life somehow, but that's impossible, isn't it?]

Yeah, but they might be able to figure out how they died. [He chews on his lip for a split-second.] It'd be good t'know.

[Just in case they might be doomed to the same fate and all. Paranoid who's paranoid.]

[He looks away from the communicator for a moment.]

I can go back and get them. [He can't, but he doesn't know that.]

Uh. [He can tell this guy... thing... doesn't want to. But. Hell with it.] Yeah, if ya can.

Alright. [And the video clicks off for a few minutes. When it comes back on, Asato still doesn't look any happier.]

It's gone.

What is. [...he should clarify, shouldn't he.] I mean - the room, or the dead people.

The room. I can't find the corridor again, either. Not any that goes on forever.

[The frown on his face probably says it before he does - he's not sure if he believes that.]

If you don't wanna look, just say it.

[Bristle!]

I am looking. I'm looking as hard as I can. But I can't even pick up any scent.

[And if he can't trace his own steps by following his own scent, then there's a problem.]

[Asato used "bristle!" ...it isn't very effective. Netherlands' expression doesn't change a bit.]

Then why'd ya turn off -

[...wait, what. He peers in a little closer, like he's just now taking a second look at those ears. Oh.]

Pick up a scent. I see. [Sigh.] So it's gone, even though y'were just there.

[If that was supposed to be sarcasm on the Netherlands' part, he completely fails to pick up on it.]

The never-ending corridor, too. [He shifts the device to show the walls of the corridor as he passes them and takes a turn into a neatly-marked door leading to the passengers' quarter lifts. No being trapped is happening here.]

[Even he's not sure if it was supposed to be sarcasm or not. But the answer he gets sounds honest enough, and the video confirms it somewhat.]

Damn. [Well, it's great that the guy isn't trapped, but he'll just voice his worries aloud.] I mean - you're out now, but what if the freaky shit just, uh. Moved. To somewhere else in the ship.

[You know like the passenger quarters or the lift or anywhere he can think of fuck his life nowhere is safe.]

Did anyone else see the same thing elsewhere? I don't know how dead bodies could move.

[But then, how could corridors be endless, and how could rooms disappear?]

Actually. [Eartwitch.] This only started happening once we were outside the passenger rooms...

Mm. [A short nod.] Other people saw it if they were in that damn hallway, yeah.

But they couldn't find each other. Maybe it wasn't the same hallway.

[Yeah he has no idea.]

It did. Uh. What about it.

Maybe each hallway was a different world.

[What? It could happen.]

I was thinking. There was a note there, and food. So someone wanted us there. Why not put the rooms in the hallways most people go through?
