If Odin possessed the ability to come here with his own free will, I have no doubt he would have done so by now.

[Believe him, he knows Odin. He would have burst in via bifrost, caused huge hullabaloo, grabbed both him and his brother and returned to Asgard without any argument. Since this has happened quite yet, Loki is fairly certainly doing so is beyond even the Allfather's power.]
