So I'm curious. Does anyone out there know the side effects of not getting any sleep? [She pauses to consider something.] Or maybe how long they'll take to start showing up? [Another pause.] I just think that might be some useful information for people in general to have and, well, like I said. I'm curious.

[For the record, Claire hasn't been sleeping pretty much at all. However her ability is working overtime to keep circles from appearing under her eyes as well as countering the other, less pleasant, side effects that come with not getting enough rest. There's still the random, occasional bleeding that she can't explain but that's neither here nor there, right?]

Human evolution is a pretty slow process. Are you sure about that?

Normally it is slow. Where I'm from, though, evolution took a pretty giant leap forward within a few generations. I'm one of the results of that.

It depends on your definition of the word, really, I guess. I can die. I just don't stay dead. Or even injured. And I never get sick.

And that includes brain tumors. Right.

[ excuse him while he just rearranges his understanding of the world... again. ]

Well the serial killer that sawed off the top of my head and poked around in my brain assured me I don't have any tumors too, but I was going to leave that out. I mean, I wouldn't want this conversation to take a turn into the ridiculous or anything.

And I really shouldn't be that flippant. I forget not everyone is fine with the weird and downright freaky. Sorry.

Wow. You mentioned being an eye witness before being a possible cure for cancer or a threat to national security. I'm impressed.

I'd hoped that was the case. If I'd managed to attract the attention of another serial killer, I'd never live it down. No pun intended.

Yeah, I kinda thought as much. Just, if he does show up, keep in mind that it's not your job? I just really don't want to see anybody else get hurt because of him.
