[There is an orange-skinned girl on the feed with white facial tattoos. Please do not adjust your communication devices, she is actually orange. Since her arrival she's shed her many layers of clothes and right now she appears to be in the lift.]

I'm Padawan Ahsoka Tano. For those of you who are wondering, I am an alien. A species called a Togruta. I'm also a Jedi apprentice and helping out in the shuttlebay.

[She hasn't been sleeping well for the last six days but that shouldn't give her hallucinations already. Which means what she saw was real. Plus hallucinations don't try to lock her in her room.]

Master Kenobi, Skyguy. We've got a bit of a problem. There's this droid, an R3 unit that's sort of out to get us on board the ship. He's a Sep spy and a stubby, little back-stabber. I can catch him but I don't have the skills to reprogram him.

Everyone else should be on the lookout for a gold and black droid - he looks exactly like Artooie except for the color. Don't let him near anything he can sabotage. If you see him electric shocks work best to put him out of commission. Try not to shoot him or slice him in half. Stubby can be a big help once he's not working against us.

As sentient as Artoo. He should be able to. With any luck he'll stick to harassing me, Master Kenobi and Anakin.

He can shock people, and has a utility saw. The most dangerous thing about him is that he has the knowledge to sabotage machinery.

Someone else reprogrammed him first. He gets people killed now.

He's already been reprogrammed. I intend to restore his original programming. The one that makes it so that he isn't out to kill me or anyone else on the ship.

[Just this one. It's not the only mech in the galaxy.]

That's what astromech droids are for. They're the ones that work on starships doing repair work, and sometimes as copilots on starfighters. If you want ones that cleans up messes or fight battles for you, we've got those too.

Well, then maybe if you'd asked permission when you reprogammed him in the first place, he wouldn't be trying to kill you now, did you think about that?

Interesting--we have nothing of the sort where I come from. Perhaps you can show me one...one with a good personality, of course.

How much fire power are we talking about? Should we be worried for your safety?

[Not the some of the programming back home wasn't top of the line - there's just a certain level of sentient oversight for most of those tasks that doesn't seem entirely applicable in this case.]

You might want to mention that part first next time. There's more then a few A.I on the ship that might think you're being less ethical.

Yep! I didn't know we had any AIs on board to begin with.

Stubby can electrocute people and has a saw but I can handle him. I've gone up against worst tinnies in the past. I just thought I should inform everyone and maybe find someone who's seen him.

Artoo's around here somewhere and so's Arfour. Both of them are nice and I'd be happy to introduce one to you when they're not busy.

I guess so but they come in handy sometimes. When the battle droids aren't shooting at you.

[And when they didn't outnumber the opposing army. Droids didn't get tired, but they weren't all that smart either.]

I didn't reprogram him. Some evil tinnie did.

[there's some beeping in the background from a certain other droid, before that fades away completely.]

If you corner him, Artoo'll shut him down for now. He's heading your way.

[meanwhile, the feed twists a little as he starts making his way in the opposite direction.]

[in other words, hi ahsoka. time to learn to reprogram a droid]

Yeah we've got a few.

I found people act a lot like them, so it's easy to just treat them all the same.

Yeah, I'm--I'm sure that's exactly what happened. Like I said, we don't do that sort of thing here, not without explicit permission. You reprogram one, suddenly everyone thinks they can just have a field day with all the AI on board. How would you like someone poking around in your brain, huh?

It sounds like your people are pretty reliant on basic AI. How sentient is the R3?

Well I would be more than happy to be introduced to such creatures, especially if you approve of them.
