Edgeworth, the law isn't always right. Sometimes laws are written by those who would profit from them, and are supported by those who have something to gain, or are frightened by media propaganda. I know you have great faith in the system, but everything has flaws.

Marijuana was made illegal by a campaign invented and promoted by a wealthy newspaper owner at the turn of the 20th century who saw hemp as a threat to his shares in paper stocks. There was never any medical research to back his claims, and future medical research proved him soundly false. No one has ever died as a direct result of marijuana use, and the medical benefits of the drug are enormous.

I'd argue that criticizing flawed and corrupt lawmaking serves to better the justice system as a whole.
