At home, when a woman gets married her father walks down the aisle with her. It's essentially supposed to symbolize him handing over his daughter to her new owner which is gross, so I choose to think of it as a sweet moment-- an important man, helping his daughter enter her next stage of life and spending the last few minutes he can when she's just part of the family they shared, not off building one of her own he's auxiliary to.
[ her voice chokes up a little there; losing her father may have made jenna reflect on some of these things. she clears her throat. ] Anyway, at home dad died so I wasn't going to get that either way and I know you're definitely not a parental figure for me, but I think traditionally speaking just 'king' works as a stand-in on that one.
