Special indeed, perhaps. But on matters that would pertain more to us-- they see with ears and nose rather than eyes, for they no longer have any. They are rather quick on their feet, and I would assume they have some strength, though I have never come close enough to be sure.
They may also come at us in packs, as you have seen, though a small group might easily dissuade them.
