[ The video feed shows Toshiko at her Comms station, looking exactly like every other resident of the ship who has gone for days without a decent night's sleep or a shower. Yes, she is still on duty. ]

Nice to finally have the lights and heat back, isn't it? I'd like to ask everyone a favor. If you happen to stumble across a little piece of equipment like this- [ She holds up a small, crude bundle of circuitry and metal ] -don't panic. It's just left from an attempt we made at tracking the source of those sounds we all heard over the network. A failed attempt, unfortunately, but you can't fault us for trying. In fact, if you find one, we'd be grateful if you'd drop it back by Communications for us.

And by the way, I'm seeing chatter about some changes to our decor. Do I even want to ask?

[OOC: Action for Comms folk is open, network only for everyone else until after Isaac has a chance to make her go back to her room. ]

[Ianto is standing outside of his door, staring at it, disturbed. Whatever he's staring at is off-screen, though.]

Is it bad?

[ Of course it's bad, this is the Tranquility. But Ianto better than anyone can probably give her a decent feel for just how bad. ]

It's... [he pauses, searching for just the correct word] ...ominous.

[He pans over for Tosh, revealing masks on everyone's doors, some more elaborate than others. On Jack and Ianto's door are a gas mask and something green.

I think I preferred just 'bad'.

[ Well that's...yeah. Ominous is a really good word. ] Right, that can't possibly mean anything good. And they're everywhere?

[ How would you like a pat on your shoulder, Tosh? ]

Don't forget to give an encouraging word to your team. You may not have come up with anything this time, but you were damn good at your jobs under difficult circumstances. Next time we'll be better prepared, and we only have ourselves to thank for that.

[He pans back around to his face.]

They're on all the doors. It looks like the masks are identical on any doors without occupants, but any rooms that are spoken for have masks that appear to be unique. My room is the only one with two masks on it... but it's also the only room with two occupants.

[ Since apparently there's a no hugging policy in Comms, a pat on the shoulder will do.

Her team. That has a nice sound to it. She smiles up at him, grateful for the encouragement. ]

I suppose you can't always hit on the right answer the first time. I'd really like to expand on that idea, though, like we talked about. So we're in a better position for next time.

So it's probably safe to assume anyone else who's cohabiting gets two masks as well. And that means one for each of us. Are they permanent? Or just sort of hung up there?

[ It could be someone's ridiculous idea of a prank, although that would be some serious commitment to pranking. ]

Question: do you plan on eating or sleeping soon?

It's actually a lot easier to nap in these chairs than you'd think. And we had sandwiches and coffee. [ Ages ago, but it's not like she's keeping to a meal schedule. ]

Neither of those are answers to my question, but I could understand if the chair naps are going to your brain.

I am, yeah. The cold doesn't bug me much, at least.

I promise, mother, I'll sleep soon. Better? [ The grin is audible. The mother-hen thing is cute, Jenna, and occasionally necessary. ]

That's some comfort, then. Are the gardens clearing out now? I suppose everyone's relieved to get back to their rooms and find out what other disturbing things the ship has decided to treat them with.

It'll be better when you eat a sandwich not in that chair and sleep. [ she is getting that sense, tosh. ]

Slowly but surely, yeah. I think everyone's still a little sluggish and freaked out, but whatever weirdness we get this time is small potatoes compared to a hot shower and a real bed-- at least, that's my take.

As soon as we have things sorted out in Comms. But everyone's been pulling back to back shifts for days, and some of us are more used to doing that than others.

Oh god, what I wouldn't give for a bubble bath, though.

Science people. [ like jenna never pulled an overnighter in her life. ] For scary geniuses, you're all a little out of it when it comes to the day to day, huh?

...in a whirlpool tub oh god, I hate myself now.

[ Hey you can hug, you just have to watch out for men in horn rimmed glasses. ]

I still think it's a great idea for a long term project. Might be a useful asset to security too, so if you make any connections over there, they might lend you manpower to get it moving. Give it some thought, see where you can take the idea; just keep me updated so I can run the progress by Kirk sometimes. He loves to keep a finger in all the pies.

I'm not sure who's working Security, but I'll look into it soon as I can. There definitely should be cooperation between the two departments, seeing as we're the ones with the eyes and ears.

[ She loves the idea of a project that isn't just something she's fiddling with to keep herself busy. ] I'll work out my thoughts on it and get back to you, once I've had some sleep. Could I maybe borrow Auggie, if he's willing, to help out? He's got sharp ears and I think that could be really handy.

Some people like nine to five jobs where they can have dinner with the husband and kids, some people like working sixty hours on coffee and pizza and then sleeping for two days straight. 'Course, that's probably part of why they don't have a husband and kids.

[ Oh the ideas spinning through her head now. ] ...I bet I could make one.

Tyke's my security contact, but doesn't have to be yours. See if there's anyone who jumps out at you off the crew roster as someone who might be cooperative and have some hours free.

And sure you can borrow Auggie, but give it another day before you throw yourself too hard at it. This mask stuff has got everyone buzzing, and the network needs to be kept from meltdown from the extra traffic.

I think I might have spoken to her just a bit, but I will do. A project like this might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Don't worry, I've already been ordered to have a sandwich and some sleep. Which I will do, once we have everything buttoned up here. I did notice the amount of chatter, could be a day or two before it's back to normal levels again, depending.

It won't. But if the results are something security or medical can use to get their people where they're needed promptly, then it's worth investigating.

It's nothing that's worth staying up insane hours for, at least. Unless the masks start talking on the network, in which case I'll let you know, and we can have another 96 hour house party.

No idea. I haven't dared touch them. You know Jack would throw a wobbly if I did.

And some of us just planned on being in school and eating ramen until at least thirty.

[ TOSH YOU DEVIL WOMAN OF A TEMPTRESS ] I'm in a committed relationship so don't take this the wrong way, but if you make a whirlpool tub I will have your children.

Don't look. They're ugly.

Should I go in and out of my room with my eyes closed? Maybe mine isn't as ugly as yours.
