[ and now a quick PSA from someone that's learned the hard way: ]
something's wrong with the doors! don't leave your room unless you absolutely have to, and if you HAVE to, bring everything you need with you, because I'm locked out and as far as i can tell, so is mostly everybody else that's stuck on my floor.
my roommate's inside but she can't open the door for me either
just wanted to get this out there on the network. PLEASE be smart and only leave your room if you know you won't need to get back in. take your stuff with you, whatever you can carry or fit in your pillowcase.
[ also open for action, for anyone stuck out on the first floor, and Mr. Jake English~ ]

Collect/gather any spare blankets, coats etc. that you can.
Folks who need to leave their rooms should take as many blankets with them as they have/they can carry.

it's safe to assume you're stuck outside your own room until they fix whatever's wrong though, sorry.
text;
and as far as i know the only spare blankets are the ones that are in the unoccupied rooms
which i can't get into ( just tried )

Once he's out the door, he turns to see if she was right and tries to open his door with no luck. Well, okay.
Anyway, Jake shuffles his feet, holding an armful of blankets and activates his skulltop. He texts Raven as he hurries down the dark hallways.
It looked sort of ridiculous. ]
Im nearly there miss darkholme. How are you faring???
Jesus christ its nippy out here isnt it??

I dont know what oxford is but alright!!
Phooey on that. I hate cold temps. Im used to the pacific!
[ Jake pivoted, taking a moment to gather his blankets into his arms again, sort of snuggling into them as he walks at a quick pace.
Eventually, though, he turns another corner and spots her down the aisle. ]
action;
[ She can probably see him too, the bright lights from his skulltop blinking rapidly. He swallows loudly before scurrying down the aisle to meet up with her. Jake stops, merely watching her from behind his device lenses. ]
Jesus christofer youre ravishing.
[ Well, that thought wasn't supposed to get through but okay. He visibly cringes, dropping the blankets at his feet. ]
I mean!
[ Jake starts, voice hitting an octave. He keeps the skulltop on, but thinks for it to stop messaging, the lights ceasing. It looks like he just has sunglass lens now, but his eyes are faintly visible behind them. ]
Holy smokes, it's just dandy to finally meet you!

The pleasure's mine. [ and it's actually kind of hard not to smile a little wider than she might normally when meeting somebody new, because he's not new and also she's just- really sweet? and it's surreal, okay, she's always got this mental note in the back of her mind that reminds her that he knew of her before he ended up here on the Tranquility. it's groovy. it's really, really groovy. ] So, um. I'm really sorry I asked you to leave your room to meet me, I didn't realize we'd be locked out for good. But I guess you got the memo to grab your stuff first. [ her gaze drops to the blankets at their feet before she's bending to scoop some of them up ] I'm just thinking we should stick around out here until we figure out who's already left their room and who's heading to the Oxygen Garden and ..stuff. [ she's busy folding up his blanket ( kinda, more like winding it up around her arms until it's in a ball, yeah ) as she talks, peeking down the hallway before looking back at him again ] I'm not technically on security yet, but I'm going to be keeping a look out for people anyway. Wanna help?
text;
is that what we're going with, then? what if people want to stay in their rooms, should i tell them it's safer to meet up in the oxygen garden with everyone else, or let it go?

[ He starts walking, teeth chattering lightly before he finally lifts his hands and removes his skulltop. Dark hair is plastered against his scalp as he tucks his helmet under an arm and slips his glasses on. Pushing some fringe out of his view, Jake looked at Raven. He's still got thick lashes like a kid; poor guy had a sweating problem though. ]
Uhmmmm. Righto, Oxygen Gardens. I suppose we can rescue whomever we spy on our way, ay?

[ she rocks back on her heels at that, trying not to fidget and let on how nervous this whole thing has left her, but it's difficult. so eventually she unfolds her arms, unfolds the sheet again so she can put it around her shoulders and bold hands holding the corners together at her collarbones so it flows behind her like a cape. there. hero. right. superheroes had capes, right? ]
You're very cute, Mr. English, I must say. [ yes, she's going to flip the attention around on him and talk about things things that are easier to talk about than their current situation. she grins like she knows perfect well that she's being flirtatious, which might be annoying, but she's already starting her stroll down the hallway before it becomes a problem. ] I'm just saying! You can't ever really tell what people actually look like, over the network. Especially when they're mostly hidden until a helmet ..thing.
text;
The most important thing right now is just communication, and not wandering the halls alone.

The compliment throws him off, and he sort of makes this weird squeaking noise. His hands toss up, then he's not sure what to do with them. So they just kind of fidget around aimlessly. ]
Thank you, ah. Jesus Christ, that means a lot coming from you. I mean, yeah, you too. You look better in person then you did in he books and movies. Here, I insist--
[ He reaches over and takes the blankets, half wanting to cuddle up with them to stay warm. He swallows, now appearing more nervous. ]
That's a blessing, though. Nightfall, I can do that..
Where, uh.. where did you hear that word from?
voice|
voice|
Oh. Yeah, I should get in touch with Jim. [ like it's this bright idea, duh duh duh ] I was planning in finding you guys once we were all settled in the Gardens anyway, so. Okay. Yeah, I'll do that.

We don't even have natural oxygen, yeah? Maybe it's alarmist but when stuff just up and stops working, I get nervous.

she passes the blankets back easily enough, shifts her hands into leather gloves to keep them warm. actually- ( she should probably give some kind of warning first, but well ) she's just going to shift into thermals underneath her jumpsuit, quick as a blink, though she has to shake out her arms and torso a bit to get in on comfortable under her very real jumpsuit. there. ]
Nightfall is just an optimistic guess. But! I don't see why not. I mean, we've got engineers that know how to fix spaceships, so I'm sure they'll be able to patch up whatever went wrong. And if not, we'll all be in the Garden. Safety in numbers, right?
[ just going to glance over like she needs to check to see if she's being convincing, mostly because yeah she's trying to convince herself too. she does have faith in Kirk's crew though, the people on board that are actually from the future and have space exploration and- yeah. they'll figure it out. ]

[ meet spock, paragon of logic. ]

Sound advice as always, Mr. Spock.
I'll try my best to find her right after I'm done checking this floor.

[ Jake speaks, teeth chattering as he snugs the blanket around him, keeping along side Raven as they walk. He glances over at her, simply fascinated for a moment before he swallows. ]
I certainly hope they can fix it in a jiffy. I'm very much accustomed to the tropical temperature as opposed to this.
Are you going to be alright? If you're chilly or anything I can share or hand them back or uhmm, um..
Something.
Hah.
