[The feed opens and Mary is smiling pleasantly into the camera. She's much more versed in the communicator than when she made her first network post.]

Hello Everyone. Mary here. I know anyone who was sick has recovered or is well on the way but if anyone needs anything- anything at all- I'd be happy to help you.

[She tucks a piece of her hair back behind her ear.] I thought I might as well check in with those who know me. So please, let me know that you're alright.

[She smiles again, having said all she wanted to. She looks as if she's about to cut the feed when an idea occurs to her then she adds one more thing as an afterthought.]

Oh. And I was just wondering, who else didn't get sick? I know there were some of us out there- and I don't know about you- but I'd like to know why.

[She gives a little nod and cuts the feed.]

[ And other people didn't too, or so she's implying. He wasn't really in enough of a condition to pay too much attention to what else was going on this past week or so. ] not because of the medicine?

no i didnt get sick. even before they found the cure. i dont know why.

Doesn't seem like I got sick, either. As for why, I, uh... couldn't... tell you. Not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth, I guess, but... I'd just like to know as well.

[If only because the lingering "what ifs" are just going to bug the hell out of him.]

I didn't end up getting sick.

[It was getting close, he thought, but it didn't end up coming.]

I was putting it down to very good luck, myself.

Never been sick. Was assuming it was the same as that.

thats why im so confused. there is no reason i can think of.

[A wide smile spreads across her face when she sees him. She's relieved to see him safe and sound.]

Yes, I'm fine. I didn't even get sick. Did you?

I wasn't sick.

So we just have more unanswered questions. [Her voice trails off for a moment.] There has to be some reason though. Whether we were chosen for some reason or it was just chance.

Alex. [Mary smiles.] I'm glad. There're more of us than I thought.

[A beat.] How are you?

Yes, but don't you want to know why?

Well, uh. I'm not gonna pretend like I know a whole lot about this kinda stuff... Miss, but. I think I might've heard how some people can have a kinda... natural immunity to certain sicknesses. Or maybe we did get infected, but just never showed any symptoms. Carriers, I think.

[This, in Murphy's opinion, would be preferable -- his history for being "chosen" for anything isn't so great.]

I'm alright, I wasn't sick either.

maybe. but it affected almost everyone and this wasnt any normal sickness. there must be something else. dont you think.

And you didn't experience any symptoms at all?

[Mary grins. She's very glad to hear that.] It's good to see you, Chuck. How have you been?

[Mary is quiet as she considers that.] Yeah. Maybe you're right. I don't like the idea of being a carrier though. [She'd much prefer a natural immunity.] It wasn't any normal disease.

[Her eyebrows knit together.] If that's the case, do you think we could spread it to anyone who's not immune or hasn't gotten the antidote?

I would have considered myself sick if I had.

[Mary smiles, noticing her mistake.] Yes, I'm sorry. I just meant-... I'm wondering if we are really immune or if we were infected and just didn't exhibit the symptoms to the same degree. I didn't notice any symptoms myself but maybe I had just missed something.

Maybe we really are immune though.

I wouldn't go so far as to say we were immune -- if it were to happen again, we could very well come down with it. There could be a number of factors. I just arrived this jump, so I may not have been exposed to things that a number of other people have been, that sort of thing.

I...apologize for not coming to check on you.

[He may've been a little too sick to do that though.]

I'm fine now. I got sick but they took care of me.

I'm glad you are fine.
