[Seems like just yesterday that you were seeing this guy's face on the network. Maybe because you did, except this isn't the prince who was offering sword fighting lessons. Far from it on so many accounts.]

I'm afraid I'm worthless for sword training or fight club, but I'm still willing to spill a few drops of blood.

[Which sounds a little strange coming from a guy who goes out of his way to be about as threatening as a golden retriever pup.]

Body art - tattooing, specifically. I've done a few people on the ship, and wouldn't mind doing a few more if it's the sort of thing that interests you. My colours are limited, but that's about all that really is. Everything else is safe and sanitary.

[Because even on a ship of rats and monsters, hepatitis is a thing. Noah pauses, a slight grimace before he continues.]

If you're not eighteen, I'd suggest you wait until you are. Or at least lie to me, you might just win me over. Especially if there's a few hundred years or miles between me and your parents.

I wasn't aware that there was an age requirement for receiving tattoos. There is no such limit in my world- or if there is the man that did my first is a terribly bad man for yet one more reason.

It varies from culture to culture. There are some rites of passage where it happens quite young. But eighteen is the law in my shop.

How old were you, if I might ask?

Mmm.

[He traces the dark curves on his cheek, mulling the answer over.]

I think perhaps I was ten? Perhaps younger. Time tends to blur those first few years together after awhile.

[He nods, and there are questions that he wants to ask. It's just a matter of how to ask them.]

Is there a reason you got one so young? A rite from your world, perhaps something religious.

One part marking me as the Property of the Crows and one part initiation. If I cried out it would show that I was unfit to continue my training.

[Property. That suggests something that he was wondering about.]

Well I could have said no. But then I would have been stabbed for disobeying, so to take it it was to choose life.

That is what the Crows do, after all. Somewhere in the middle of all we were taught the tattoos and art of tattooing came about as well.

Ah.

[He tries to hide his grimace at that; fails.]

Well, I'd be interested in seeing some of your art. Perhaps you could even tattoo me sometime.

[Zevran shrugs. He is what he is, there's little point in hiding it. Especially since there's no reason to do that work on this ship.]

[Much as he had before he unzips the suit he wears and works the fabric away from his shoulder, exposing the detailed lines that make up the feathers and talons on the skin there.]

[Noah leans closer to the video, his eyes following the fine lines, taking the piece in as a whole.]

They're beautiful. And you can do that as well?

There are more intricate markings on my torso and ribs- but such things are not shown upon the first meeting, yes?

[He gives the camera a coy smile and pulls his suit back on, zipping it up.]
